The book of Luke has often been called the most beautiful book ever written. This is in part due to Luke’s literary excellence.

Luke’s Gospel has a certain emotional depth: his portrayal of Jesus and His interactions with others evoke a deep emotional resonance. 

Luke shows Jesus as the great friend of outcasts and sinners. It is written with the ‘underdog’ in mind focusing on narratives that aren’t found in the other gospels.
