letters to the churches
The letters from Corinthians to Philemon were written by the apostle Paul, or Saul, of Tarsus. You can read more about this early Christian pioneer and his journeys in the book of Acts. Paul wrote these letters to different Christian communities he had helped to found–in Corinth, in Galatia, in Ephesus, etc.–and also directly to individuals who were leaders in their communities–Timothy, Titus, and Philemon.
Through his letters, Paul desires that these communities come to a profound comprehension of God’s love. Paul meets the believers right where they are spiritually, while encouraging them to walk into a deeper relationship with their Creator. He points toward the mystery of Christ in us, the hope of glory.
