The books Hebrews to Jude depict a church that is under testing. It is clear that Satan had one intention for Jesus’ church and that was (and still is today) to destroy it. Whether that was from outside the community of believers via discrimination, persecution or martyrdom, or from within the church, through false prophets.
These books encourage the Christian community to endure trials, as well as emphasise the importance of ethical behaviour and practical Christian living. They provide instructions on how to live a life that is pleasing to God.
