story

Because you fall into a routine, especially surfing and at contests, you get up really early and sleep really early, and for me I find that my mind is more awake after I have finished the day, if that makes sense, like I’m really ready to like close the day off emotionally with Jesus and have a really long prayer and spend that time in the word in the evening.

If you had to point to a moment or season where God’s goodness felt most real to you, what would it be?

I see God’s goodness everywhere, but specifically for me – I see His goodness most clearly in my marriage with Jesse. When we first started hanging out, I didn’t know he was a Christian, and we were both in a place where our relationship with Jesus wasn’t as strong as it could be. As we got to know each other a little bit more, I mentioned that I had grown up going to Bible studies, and that’s when he realised I was a Christian. He was so excited, though he didn’t say much about it until later on but from that moment I think he knew I was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

When I found out how knowledgeable Jesse was in the Word and just what a faithful man of God he was, I knew I wanted the same thing – to spend the rest of my life with him. So I know that God really blessed us to have each other, and that’s very special to me.
